Statistical Data

A recent survey of over 900 mid-sized companies by Guideline Research, for Benefits Access (A Cigna Company) produced the following information:

  • 91% still use paper enrollment (most likely much higher for those with less than 1,000 lives) and only 16% are satisfied with this method. In fact, 88% of the benefit managers say they are overwhelmed by or frustrated with benefits paperwork.
  • 54% indicated the key reasons to consider outsourcing were easing annual enrollment, record keeping problems, and reducing paperwork. The study also indicated the top functions most likely to be outsource were annual enrollment and eligibility and distribution of enrollment forms.
  • 74% of the benefits managers wish to find a way to give employees faster and easier access to their benefits administration.
